Black Forest Pumpkin Brownies


If you're as obsessed with our Pumpkin Walnut Brownies, wait till you try these , f-ing amazing, game changing Black Forest Brownies! It's currently cherry season in Western Colorado, what better time to make some Clean Sweets, Black Forest style!



INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 Cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder

  • 1/2 Tsp. Baking Soda

  • 2 Eggs

  • 1/3 Cup Maple Syrup

  • 1/2 Cup Dark Chocolate Chips

  • 1 Cup Pumpkin Puree

  • 1 Tsp. Pure Vanilla Extract

  • 1/3 Cup Almond Butter

  • 1/4 Cup Walnuts

  • 10+ Fresh Pitted Cherries


INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line an

8 x 8 pan with parchment paper.


Step 2: In medium mixing bowl combine eggs with maple syrup and whisk.


Step 3: Then add pumpkin puree, almond butter, and vanilla extract and whisk again till combined.


Step 4: Add cocoa powder and baking soda and stir till combined making sure everything is thoroughly incorporated.


Step 5: Fold in dark chocolate chips.


Step 6: Pit cherries and cut in half. Fold in cherries.


Step 7: Pour into lined baking pan and sprinkle chocolate chips, 1/4 sliced cherries and chopped walnuts on top. Bake in preheated oven 30 -35 minutes until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cherries add a bit of extra moisture so they they take a little longer to cook.


Step 8: Allow to cool in pan before removing and slicing.


Keep refrigerated.
